Lollipop Day Community Organisers are responsible for the coordination of 1 (or more) Lollipop Day collection activities in their local area.
Lollipop Day is the Oesopaheal Cancer Fund's flagship awareness fundraising day and requires the support of volunteers across the country to coordinate the sale of Lollipop Day merchandise in their local community.
With the full support of the OCF fundraising team, you will be responsible for helping to bring Lollipop Day to your local area, and in turn helping to support Oesophageal Cancer patients and their families across Ireland by raising vital funds and awareness.
As a Lollipop Day Community Organiser, you will be tasked with the following:
Working with existing Lollipop Day volunteers and/or identifying local volunteers to help in the delivery of Lollipop Day. Volunteers could include family, friends, local students or members of your local clubs. The Oesophageal Cancer Fund team will also help with volunteer recruitment and match you with volunteers in the area in the lead up to Lollipop Day
Organising a volunteer roster for the day, identifying time slots that need to be filled
Receiving and storing of Lollipop Day stock (short term)
Distribution of Lollipop Day stock to volunteers
Supervising your local activities on Lollipop Day and supporting your volunteers as is needed
Collecting, counting and lodging all funds raised throughout the day at your local bank.
The main activity for this role will take place in February each year with a peak during the week of Lollipop Day (23th & 24th of February 2024).
A maximum of 1 or 2 hours commitment will be required most weeks but may be more the week of Lollipop Day and it is required that you are available on Lollipop Day to supervise your volunteers and activities on the day.
